I sincerely appreciate your continued understanding of the business activities of Tokyu Corporation and the Tokyu Group.
In the previous fiscal year, the strong performance in the Hotel and Resort Business and other businesses resulted in a record-high profit attributable to owners of parent for the second consecutive fiscal year. At the same time, the global economy is increasingly uncertain amid the rising prices of goods, U.S. policy trends and the situations in Russia and the Middle East. Accordingly, it is increasingly important to ensure the cost and availability of materials, workforce, energy, funds and all other management resources. While we expect these factors will significantly impact our operations, we will respond flexibly to achieve steady progress in our individual businesses.
In these circumstances, we will continue to maximize inter-business synergy centering on transportation and real estate, implement the cyclical reinvestment model to constantly increase community value and to improve the attractiveness of the areas where we do business and also profitability in the current fiscal year, which is the final fiscal year of the medium-term management plan. Furthermore, we will intensify regional conglomerate management. This means we will operate a wide variety of businesses that make life more convenient, chiefly in areas along the Tokyu railway lines. In parallel with the strengthening of the profitability of our individual businesses, we will strive to realize a conglomerate premium. In other words, the Group will work as one and its multiple businesses will collaborate to increase synergy to continuously increase the value of the businesses. In doing this, we will enable customers to live prosperous and enjoyable lives.
The Medium-term Management Plan includes a key term, "Creative Act." We define this as "striving to create a city admired around the world by acting flexibly and creatively to solve diverse challenges and build a bright future." "Act." represents the two concepts of action and active. In the previous fiscal year, we added proactive to this. We aspire to make the current fiscal year a year of execution and procurement. This means creatively and proactively implementing our ideas. Our individual employees will do this to provide people with a living environment that enables them to live beautiful, prosperous and enjoyable lives in the areas served by the Tokyu railway lines and other individual business locations using creative ideas, and also to create globally admired communities.
In addition, as a core company of the Tokyu Group, Tokyu Corporation will fulfill its social responsibilities based on safety and security under the Group slogan, "Toward a Beautiful Age." We will also help build communities through cyclical reinvestment to seek the creation of beautiful living environments, a harmonious society and individual happiness.
I would like to ask for your continued patronage and support for the business activities of Tokyu Corporation and the Tokyu Group.
(June 2026)
Masahiro Horie
