To Our Shareholders and Investors

My name is Horie, and I assumed the position of President on June 29 of this year . We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued understanding of the business activities of our company and the Tokyu Group.

In fiscal year 2023, there was progress in both measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and social and economic activities, and there were signs of a recovery in corporate earnings. The future is still uncertain due to the manifestation of geopolitical risks, soaring energy and raw material prices, and the rapid tightening of monetary policy in Europe and the United States.

From fiscal year 2021, based on the three-year medium-term management plan with the basic policy of “変革(Henkaku)”, we will respond to the changes in the current business environment by accurately capturing demand expansion and needs to restore earnings and improve profitability. While working on business structural reforms aimed at improving the the break-even point , we also took measures with an eye on the post-corona era. This fiscal year is the final year of the current medium-term management plan, and we will take on the challenge of further growth while appropriately dealing with risks, such as business structural reforms and deepening our services that are supported by our customers.

Currently, we are in the midst of our next medium-term management plan, but we will implement our growth strategy while curbing the increased debt due to measures against the coronavirus pandemic and large-scale investments. While focusing on three things: "creating attractive areas along the railway lines that make people want to live, visit, and work", "improve services from the customer's perspective", and "exercise creativity". We would like to take even stronger steps towards, the Tokyu Group slogan of "Toward a beautiful Age."
In September 2022, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of our founding. For the past 100 years, we have valued the creation of a rich living environment and harmony with society. We will continue to pass on this stance to the next generation without changing, and realize a "city in harmony with the environment" toward a decarbonized and recycling-oriented society. By providing the "enjoyment", "enrichment " and "beauty" that everyone wants, we aim to create a city where everyone can continue to live with peace of mind and "create a beautiful living environment".

As a representative company of the Tokyu Group, we will continue to create new added value by strengthening cooperation among group companies with various business fields. We will fulfill our corporate social responsibility with "safety" as the foundation of all our businesses. We will do our best to make Tokyu a brand that is loved and trusted by all stakeholders.

We sincerely ask for your continued patronage and support for the business activities of our company and the Tokyu Group.

June 2023
